Service Learning PDF Print

Spartanburg Charter School supports the concept of service learning as a teaching method and encourages its use in the school. “Service learning” means a teaching/learning strategy requiring students to develop and apply knowledge and skills through challenging projects that meet real community needs. Citizenship, academic subjects and skills will be taught through learning activities aligned to state standards, character education, and/or local performance standards. As appropriate, the head of the school will implement service learning with the input of staff, parents, the community, and higher education.
