Welcome to SCS!

Regular meetings of the Board are held the fourth Monday of each month. Upcoming meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on site at the school (385 S. Spring Street)

Persons wishing to speak to the Board must register by phone or in person on the day of the regular meeting. Registration is open all day by telephone at 621-3882 and on location at the school between 6:00 and 6:20 PM. The opportunity to address the Board at each regular Board Meeting is 30 minutes at the beginning of the meeting.

Each speaker has up to five minutes, subject to change due to number who wish to speak. Speakers may not ask questions of Board Members. Board Members may not engage speakers in discussion. Disruptive behavior is not permitted. Personal attacks aimed at students or staff are not permitted. Scurrilous, obscene, or recklessly defamatory language aimed at anyone is not permitted.

The Spartanburg Charter School Board will follow up on all matters that speakers present.

Program Director

The Program Director will:

Assist the head of the school to ensure that the school’s mission is implemented with fidelity
Manage grant data and evaluation of outcomes for the SC Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Public Charter School Grant Program
Solicit additional funds and conduct additional grant-writing
Conduct psychological evaluations as deemed necessary by the IAT
Teach character education classes
Provide individual and group interventions for students and families of the Spartanburg Charter School as deemed necessary by the Intervention and Advancement Team (IAT)
Co-lead IAT meetings
Assist the head of the school in the recruitment and selection of faculty/staff
Assist the head of the school in planning of the master schedule
Assist the head of the school in planning of the budget
Stay abreast of current research in education in general, and in character education, special education, and the RTI model in particular and
Carry out all duties that may be assigned by the board of directors.
