School colors: Navy Blue, Kelly Green, Chocolate Brown.
These school uniform standards are designed to help ensure that our children are well-prepared, both physically and mentally, for academic and social success.
All school uniform policies are subject to review/revision by the Spartanburg Charter School governing board. Any requests for review or revision should be directed to the board in writing.
Students should come to school in clean clothes daily.
Clothing should not be too low, high, tight, loose, or transparent.
No logos or labels should be exposed.
Items that are too short, tight, or worn due to student growth and usage must be replaced. Worn clothing includes but is not limited to holes, tears, frays and stains.
Students may be required to wear specific School Uniform items for special events.
Winter accessories such as hats, mittens/gloves and scarves must be removed upon entering the school. Fashion hats are not permitted.
Shoes: All shoes should be flat, rubber bottomed. Due to daily Physical Education. and Yoga, shoes should not include the following: open-toed, sandals, slide shoes, Healies or other “wheel” shoes, characters or lights.
Socks: Socks or tights are required due to daily Physical Education and Yoga. All socks and tights should be in complimentary school colors.
Pants: Khaki or navy blue pants, capri’s, shorts or skorts. No skirts may be worn. Shorts and skorts must be at least fingertip length or longer when standing. Pants, capri’s, shorts and skorts must be worn at the waist.
Pants must not be extremely faded or worn and must have no ornamentation or exposed zippers.
Pants must be loose fitting and fit properly. Not drag the ground, not rolled up, no cut in any manner. Not excessively frayed at hem; should not be too tight, baggy, sagging, ripped, excessively flared, wide leg skate style, form fitting, spandex, or worn in a way that exposes undergarments.
Shirt: Golf shirt must be worn daily by both boys and girls. Golf shirt must be any of the following colors: navy blue, Kelly green, chocolate brown.
A long-sleeved solid colored shirt may be worn under a golf shirt for warmth. It may be of the following colors: Kelly green, navy blue, chocolate brown, light blue, white or gray.
Students must have at least one Kelly green shirt. This shirt may be required on special days such as a field trip or class pictures.
Sweater/Sweatshirt: Must be Kelly green, navy blue or chocolate brown. No pull over’s. Must be a zip or button full front.
Jewelry: Earrings may be worn, no long hoops or dangles. Watches may be worn. No necklaces, bracelets or rings due to daily Physical Education and Yoga.
